Lively Lips

One of the simplest steps in makeup application is the lips. The application can range from simple to very dramatic and creative. The key to having fab lips boils down to one thing…THE RIGHT SHADE! Below, I will give some tips on finding the right shade for your pucker uppers*.

Finding the Perfect Shade

When attempting to identify the best basic lip color, you should remove ALL makeup. The perfect neutral shade – pinky brown, nude, beige pink, rosy brown, pink, chocolate, or blackberry – will generally be close in tone to the natural lip color. The one that looks good on the naked face is the right neutral, everyday, mistake-proof color. Your lip color should not look ashy, orange, or pink BUT it should be an enhanced version of the natural lip color. Some women may need more color, and the shade that works best without makeup could be bright or dark rather than neutral. You know you have found the right shade when it enhances the skin tone, makes the eyes look brighter, and gives your face a lift.*

Guide for Selecting Lip Color

If the natural color of your lips are pale, you should choose lipsticks that are these shades*:

  • beige
  • sandy pink
  • light coral
  • pale pink
  • bright red

If the natural color of your lips are medium, you should choose lipsticks that are these shades*:

  • brown
  • rose
  • pink
  • orange
  • warm red

If the natural color of your lips are dark, you should choose lipsticks that are these shades*:

  • brown
  • deep red
  • plum
  • deep chocolate
  • deep raisin/berries

and finally….if you are a person whose lips are two-toned, you should choose lipsticks that are these shades*:

  • chocolate
  • blackberry
  • deep plum
  • deep raisin
  • deep red

Ladies, I hope these few tips will help you all to BmoreBeautiful =)
